Rip Off Radar is a paperwork clarity tool that helps users review quotes, invoices, warranties, dealer worksheets, repair estimates, service contracts, and bills for missing details, vague charges, warranty gaps, payment concerns, pressure language, and questions to ask before signing or paying.
Information we collect
Rip Off Radar may collect or process the following information when you use the app:
- Account email address and Firebase user ID when you create or sign into an account.
- Saved report data, including report names, clarity scores, extracted document details, findings, questions, and analysis results.
- Text extracted from uploaded or pasted paperwork when you choose to scan a document.
- Basic analytics or technical data, such as app usage, device/browser type, pages viewed, and performance information.
Uploaded documents and report data
You choose what documents or text to upload, scan, or paste into Rip Off Radar. You should avoid uploading sensitive personal information, full account numbers, Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, medical record numbers, or any information you do not want processed by the app.
When you are signed in, saved reports may be stored using Firebase/Google Cloud services so they can be associated with your account. Guest use may store reports locally on your device/browser.
How we use information
We use information to operate the app, provide document clarity reports, save user reports, support account access, improve reliability, troubleshoot errors, respond to support requests, and maintain app security.
What Rip Off Radar does not do
- We do not sell your reports, document text, or contact information to contractors, dealers, service providers, lead buyers, or advertisers.
- We do not use your uploaded paperwork to accuse any business or person of wrongdoing.
- We do not provide legal, financial, medical, tax, insurance, or professional advice.
Third-party services
Rip Off Radar uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore to support user accounts and saved reports. The app may also use hosting, analytics, or performance tools to operate and improve the service. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Data sharing
We may share information only as needed to operate the app, comply with law, protect the service, respond to support requests, or use service providers that help run the app. We do not sell user data.
Data retention and deletion
Saved reports may remain in your account until deleted or until the service removes them as part of normal operations. To request help with account or report deletion, contact us using the support email below.
Children
Rip Off Radar is not designed for children and is not intended for use by children under 13. Do not upload children's personal information into the app.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures and trusted service providers to help protect account and report data. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so users should avoid uploading highly sensitive information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
